Genuinely wondered what made him choose stand-up (as a format) this time but kind of makes sense if I understand it correctly. Will Adamsdale, a Perrier Award Winner with a number of credits afterwards, has a son now and his personal life makes him VERY tired. How he works out in his life is no longer in the same way and he is not allowed to have time to seek how he wants to show his new work. Therefore, stand-up. I don't mean to say he takes stand-up too easy. I mean a stand up style was the only format (given the limited time) that he could make sure the show would work and without much preparation other than a very good delivery.
It was a different kind of show I expected from Will Adamsdale but it turned out to be a fascinating one as I could see something in common with Daniel Kitson's Shenanigan (which I saw a few days back and was brilliant as usual) and also made me wonder the line between stand-up "comedy" and a "funny" story-telling.

今まで3回目観てますが、どれもWill Adamsdale がマイク一本（とギター）で勝負するというのを観たことがなかったので、正直へえ？（汗）となってしまいました。今回もストーリーテリングではあるのですが、フォーマットとしてはスタンダップ以外の何者でもないので、スタンダップの技量があって数こなしてないとキッツイと思うんだけど、ある意味専門外のわりにはしっかり成り立ってたのでよかったです。
この数日前にDaniel KitsonのShenaniganという素晴らしい作品を観たのですが、これが、スタンダップとストーリーテリングをうたったお芝居の間を行くような、「できたお話をみんなに発表する」というお話（まさにShenanigan）で、今回のWill AdamsdaleのFacetimeもこのShenaniganのように狭間に位置するのかな、とか。 なぜスタンダップとなってしまったのかが、息子がこの歳になってできて、時間取られまくっていつも疲れてて、そんな中で（ある意味私生活から逃げるため）ショーを完成・発表するのにスタンダップが一番確実だった、というのがぼんやり背景に見えることも含めてショーなのかな、と思ってます。
それこそSOHO THEATREくらいに後々やればいいのではないかしら、とか思ってます。
